2. HOW TO GET A VIETNAM TOURISM VISA
Visa on arrival
Tourists can get visa on arrival at Vietnam's international border gates include air border gates (Noi Bai international airport, Tan Son Nhat international airport, Da Nang international airport), international land gates (Huu Nghi Quan, Moc Bai, Cau Treo .....) and sea border gates.
Who can get Vietnam visa on arrival at international border gates?
- Coming from a country that does not have a visa-issuing authority of Vietnam;
- Before coming to Vietnam, they go through many countries;
- Entering Vietnam to visit or travel under a program organized by an international travel agency in Vietnam;
- Foreign crew members who are on board ships anchored at Vietnamese seaports and want to exit through another border gate;
- Entering to attend the funeral of a relative or visit a one who is seriously ill;
- Entering Vietnam to participate in emergency incident handling, rescue, prevention of natural disasters, epidemics or for other special reasons at the request of competent Vietnamese agencies.
Procedures for visa application at international border gates:
- An entry visa application form according to a pre-printed form (the form may vary depending on the Vietnamese representative agency abroad). There are two forms: one for foreigners and one for Vietnamese residing abroad.
Note: children under 14 years old are declared together with the visa application form of their parents or guardians in case they share a passport with their parents or guardians.
- 02 photos 4cmx6cm or 3cmx4cm to paste on the visa application form
- The passport must be valid for at least 06 months
- An entry letter on arrival approved by the Immigration Department – Ministry of Public Security of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam allowing you to enter and receive visas at international border gates. This is the most important document, if not, foreigners can be deported within 02-03 hours from the time they arrive at the international border gate.

E-visa Vietnam
Vietnamese visa is a kind of travel documents granted by Vietnamese competent authorities, providing permission to travel to and enter Vietnam.
An electronic visa (E-visa) is one of visa types issued to foreigners by Vietnamese Immigration Department via electronic system. Vietnam E-visa is valid for maximum of 30 days, single entry.
Outside Vietnam foreigners who want to enter Vietnam can personally apply for E-visa or through the inviting/guaranteeing agencies and organizations.
E-visa fee is paid via electronic payment gateway as prescribed by the Immigration Department. The fee will not be refunded if the application is refused.
