Just a few kilometers from Nha Trang ’s beach front is the picturesque countryside dotted with palm trees, fruit orchards and irrigated rice paddies. Some people like to photo at the rice fields along the road near villages. if you visit on time; you may see farmers plant or harvest the rice. Thanks to the efficient irrigation system, farmers have two rice crops a year, but most farmers alternate their crops, such as water melons, corn,. Most of the planting, ploughing, transplanting, harvesting is done by hand or by buffaloes. Therefore, for most families their buffaloes are a considerable asset.
We stop first at Long Son Pagoda which was built in 19th century, the ornate pagoda decorated with colorful mosaic dragons, sits in the shadow of a towering white Buddha seated on a lotus blossom. Driving through miles of flat rice fields to a rural village, enjoy the opportunity to interact with the local people as they go about their daily lives, with farming and cottage industries as their primary source of income. We also visit some family to have deep understanding of local people lives.
After that we visit Nha Trang Pagoda Orphanage: home of over 120 abandoned, orphaned or street children. The children of the orphanage are taken care of by a group of Buddhist nuns and volunteers. Being a private organization, the orphanage is trying to provide its children food, shelter, health and education. Youll learn about the Vietnamese educational system, and you can play and sing with the little children.
The following stop is Charcoal stove making village: Considered as kitchen God to all Vietnamese, so there's one stove in every family although gas cookers have been used abundantly nowadays. Tourists are told the legend of kitchen God by craftsmen to experience the fire culture in Vietnam.
Bakery: Visit the household bakery that supplies the surrounding villages with delicious French style baguettes. The aroma wafting from the primitive oven is tantalizing
Rice paper making: One of the most typical food from rice steamed and processed into round piece dried in the sun on the bamboo brackets that are on sale in the inns or shops.
