From March 15, 2022, Vietnam officially reopened completely domestic and international tourism activities in the context of the new normal. With 2 programs "Safe travel, full experience" promoting domestic tourism and "Live Fully in Vietnam" towards the international market initiated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vietnam Administration of Tourism. Tourism has started a series of cooperation activities, stimulating the exciting tourism demand of localities and tourism businesses across the country.
After the first 9 months of 2022, the number of domestic tourists reached 86.8 million, far exceeding the target of 2022 and even higher than the number of visitors in 2019 - the time before the epidemic. The number of international tourists reached 1.7 million. Total revenue from tourists reached nearly 400 trillion VND. This result shows a strong recovery of Vietnam's tourism industry, in which the domestic tourism market is the main driving force, the international tourism market is in the process of reconnecting and gradually recovering.
