1. Ba Be Festival - A Colourful Autumn
For the first time ever, Bac Kan Province (North) will organise a festival in Ba Be called “The Colourful Autumn of Ba Be Lake”. The event will take place from 4th to 6th November 2022 with the aim to maintain, preserve the beautiful features of native culture; and at the same time promote the beauty of the land, people and Ba Be tourism products to domestic and international visitors.
2. Where is Ba Be
Located about 220km from the centre of Ha Noi, Ba Be Lake (Ba Be District, Bac Kan Province) is well known for being one of the world’s 20 special freshwater lakes that need protection. This is also a place associated with the rich cultural life of the ethnic minority groups such as Tay, Nung, Dao and Mong.
Ba Be Lake tourist area is a harmony between mountains, forests, rivers and lake, cool climate all year round, so visitors can come here in all seasons of the year. Yet, autumn is the most ideal and charming time to visit this gorgeous lake.
The Festival “The Colourful Autumn in Ba Be” will be organised by Ba Be District People’s Committee, offering several experiential and discovery activities. Simultaneously with introducing and inspecting new local tourism products such as experiencing the community tourism model in Yen Duong commune (picking glutinous rice, pounding banh day, visiting Pu Lau bamboo forest, enjoying local food) and villages along Ba Be Lake; Hunting clouds on the top of Don Den, experiencing the golden season in Quang Khe commune and walking routes in Ba Be National Park…
The highlight point of the Festival would be a soul-soaring experience with paragliding, which will take place on 5th November in Don Den village and Khuoi Slun village, Na Sam village and kayak race on Ba Be Lake on 6th November.
Taking a short paragliding is the best way to truly appreciate this scenic splendour from above. Time slows, so visitors can really take in the panoramic views of the magnificent limestone mountains, the patchwork pattern of rice paddies, the fields of blooming flowers, and the pristine beauty of Ba Be Lake…
There are many activities that visitors can take part in while in Ba Be such as admiring the lake by canoe, visiting the lakeside landscapes, and watching the colourful orchids. For visitors who are not so fond of the water activities, feel free to have a trekking or cycling on the winding roads, then immerse yourself in the life of the indigenous people, eat and rest with the families in the village, and enjoy the specialties of the Northeast mountains and forests.
Ba Be District holds a huge potential to develop tourism, in which, the place possesses several worthy visiting sites, such as Hua Ma cave, Tham Phay cave, Puong cave, Dau Dang waterfall... In addition, there are eco-tourism sites in the district such as Lung Trang, Phieng Phang; Historical and cultural relics with rich and unique culinary sources and agricultural products are adding points for tourist attraction.
